A family feud is never something to be taken lightly, but it's even more dangerous when members of the same family go in court one after the other fighting for a child. This is the case with Paul Walker's family, which has been left locked in a bitter battle after the passing on the actor.

The entire issue might be related to money, or it might just be related in seeking out what's best for his teenage daughter, Meadow. At the moment, Paul Walker's mother, Cheryl, who is also Meadow's grandmother, is battling Rebecca Soteros, Meadow's natural mother, in court over custody.

The issue is still blurry but, as TMZ reports, as Cheryl was seeking custody of Meadow in court, Rebecca flew in from Hawaii where she lives and moved her daughter out of the Walker home. Meadow had been living with her father for some time prior to his death, and now Rebecca decided to put an end to that.

After Cheryl filed for custody on March 19, Rebecca took her out of the Walker home without warning. The reason why Cheryl is struggling to get custody is because it's been reported that Soteros is dealing with a vicious drinking problem for the past six years.

Speculations from the press said that it was for this reason that Meadow called up her dad and pleaded with him to take her away. This would also explain why Paul left the entire estate to his daughter and charged his mother as custodian until she is of legal age.

Sources from inside the family reveal that Paul had decided to make his mother Meadow's legal guardian when he was still alive. He was convinced that his busy schedule didn't allow him to provide a good education to his daughter so he had convinced his mother to take up that job.

She accepted and gave up her nursing job to take full care of Meadow. The legal process of giving her full custody was in its early stages when Paul passed away in a car crash, so now the family is torn apart in a legal war that is probably going to take some time to settle.

In order to get a judge to side with her, Cheryl is said to be armed with irrefutable evidence that Rebecca is an unfit parent with a drinking problem. Meanwhile, Rebecca is said to be ready to fight for her rights to custody until the bitter end.

From a legal point of view, Rebecca is holding the upper hand, because she is the biological mother of the child and significant proof would have to be provided before a judge determines that she needs to be stripped of her rights.

But Cheryl is also determined to do her best to fulfill Paul's final wish that was written in his will, that of getting his own mother to take care of his teenage daughter.
