The formerly obese bulldog, named Daisy, was crowned the pet slimmer of the year by UK-based animal charity PDSA

Until not long ago, Daisy the bulldog was worryingly plump. The pooch tipped the scale at about 28 kilograms (nearly 62 pounds) and had serious trouble running and even walking. In fact, her owners say that she used to be a regular couch potato.

Apparently, the bulldog used to beg for treats as often as she had the chance. Besides, she simply refused to do any kind of exercise and would even do her best to avoid going walkies with her humans. In time, her lifestyle took its toll on her figure.

Lazy Daisy's life completely turned around when her owner, 60-year-old Gillian Turrell, decided to sign her up for UK-based animal charity PDSA's Pet Fit Club competition. The bulldog was put on a diet and, in just a few months, got back in shape.

Not to make anyone jealous or anything of the sorts, but word has it that Lazy Daisy managed to drop an impressive 8 kilograms (about 17.6 pounds). In fact, her progress was so amazing that PDSA crowned her the pet slimmer of the year.

“The difference in Daisy is amazing. Losing the weight has really improved her mobility,” Lazy Daisy's owner told the press in an interview, as cited by DM. Furthermore, “Before she struggled to climb the stairs but now she sprints up them, and she has a waist again.”

Together, the pets that were full members of PDSA's Pet Fit Club last year managed to drop an impressive 30 kilograms (about 66 pounds). If you have a few minutes to spare, check out the gallery below to see other amazing transformations.
