Developer Crytek has revealed what the differences between the Xbox One and PC versions of Ryse: Son of Rome will be, offering a more in-depth look at what's coming.

The developer has issued a post on its official blog, detailing what "enhanced visuals" really means, and what the game will look and play like come October.

In short, Crytek touts the PC edition of the action-adventure video game as having improved visuals and offering much greater control to its users through a wealth of customization options, which is not really that surprising.

Visual switches to play with

Ryse: Son of Rome will ship with 4K resolution support, which is nice on paper, but will only affect a minority of players.

In addition to this, the game comes packed with a slew of customization options, from the basic low, normal and high visual presets meant for players who just want to jump into the action, to in-depth options that will allow you to fine-tune your gameplay experience.

You'll be able to set shading quality, animation quality, shadow quality, motion blur, object detail, native upscaling, anisotropic filtering, and a lot of other similar options, which is pretty much what you would expect to find in a triple-A PC game.

The PC edition packs a lot of content

Ryse: Son of Rome will land on PC with all available DLC packs, so you won't need to shell out any additional currency in order to get the full experience.

The downloadable content for the Xbox One version released so far consists of The Colosseum Pack, with two character skins and two Arena map, The Mars' Chosen pack, delivering one new character skin, four Arena maps and the Survival game mode.

The Duel of the Fates Pack brings two additional character skins, two Arena maps and an additional Survival map, and The Morituri Pack brings three Arena maps, two Survival maps, as well as five solo Arena maps for players to enjoy.

In addition to this, the game won't feature any pesky microtransactions, because the PC Master Race knows that they're the root of all evil and steers clear of them.

Ryse: Son of Rome is making its way to the Windows PC platform (or rather, collection of platforms) on October 10, 2014, almost a year after its debut on the Xbox One home console.

The game is available for pre-order on Steam right now, with the incentive being the game's epic orchestral track, consisting of 25 glorious tracks performed by the Hungarian Studio Orchestra.
