14 DAY TRIAL // Amidst claims that she cheated on the man whom she was supposed to marry this Saturday, Crystal Harris is opening up on the reasons she called off the wedding to Hugh Hefner. Fighting back tears, the glamour girl says there were always too many women around.
Harris sat down with Entertainment Tonight (see the video here) to speak of reason(s) she canceled her wedding to the Playboy mogul – and why she accepted to marry him in the first place.
For starters, it all happened too fast, she says. There were always cameras and photographers around and she felt like she was pressed into saying and doing the things she said and did.
This, of course, is not to say that she didn’t want to marry Hef, she stresses: she believed that was what she wanted but, as wedding preparations started, she realized it wasn’t actually so.
“It happened so fast. Hef asked me to marry him in front of three cameras and a photographer. I thought it was something I wanted,” she says.
Crystal recalls how she first met the mogul and later moved into the Mansion – and how for a very long time she believed that was a lifestyle she wanted.
In time, though, she slowly began to understand that she could never be married to Hef and have him continue to lead the same life as before.
“Hef doesn’t live a normal lifestyle, there’s women around all the time,” Harris says, planting the idea that Hef remained polygamous even though she wasn’t.
“I wasn’t the only woman in Hef's life. I didn’t feel comfortable in my heart knowing that and getting married to him, because a marriage is between two people,” she says.
“That’s not what our relationship was,” Crystal adds with some bitterness, making it very clear that she’s suggesting Hefner was cheating on her.
Asked if she feared she would let people down by announcing she was calling off the wedding, Crystal wells up and, fighting back tears, she says she feels she “disappointed everyone.”
