Crysis in Development for PS3 (Not Official)

- '...extra modes and features, a kind of Crysis 1.5'

By: Filip Truta, Games Editor

You're probably one of those PS3 owners who isn't very proud of having purchased the system at the time it was released. So much time has passed since its launch and the machine still isn't worth buying. Or is it...? It sure is if we're to believe this story that a PS3 version of Crysis is on its way. The Xbox 360 can't handle it apparently, so this should make your day as a PlayStation
fan.

We've picked up on this piece of news via Evil Avatar who reports that "Games Radar (UK) has the alleged scoop (taken from PlayStation World UK - a wholly owned property of Future Publishing, just like Games Radar)." As gamesradar.com takes a bite at the story with little to no introduction, we're awfully tempted to believe that it is true:

"Even before the PC version released, rumours of a PS3 conversion of the stunning Crysis (developed by Far Cry creators Crytek) were rife, and not far off the mark if insiders at the studio are to be believed. The game looks to be a port of the PC original plus some extra modes and features, a kind of Crysis 1.5. Like the PC game you can expect a visual powerhouse; an open-world shooter that begins on a beautiful tropical island before things take a turn for the worse and aliens from a parallel world stake a claim on Earth. Only the mighty Killzone 2 could possibly hold a candle to this shooter. For technical reasons we hear an Xbox 360 version of Crysis isn’t in development. Bet you’re glad you bought a PS3 now, eh?"

Crysis delivers the best FPS experience to date, taking into account visuals and gameplay features put together. This game has players adapting their tactics, weaponry, armour and even gameplay style every step of the way as the alien threat changes and increases constantly.

Crysis uses Crytek’s proprietary engine CryENGINE, famous for supporting advanced particles technology and any kind of volumetric lighting effects on particles, and for featuring stuff like Polybump – fancy talk for Microsoft's Xbox 360.
