Crytek’s Crysis franchise has just celebrated its fifth anniversary, as the studio marked the original release of the first game in the series on the PC back in 2007.

Crysis games have impressed through their visual quality that required extremely powerful platforms to run it.

While the first two games were PC-exclusive, Crytek shifted its eyes to consoles with Crysis 2 and the upcoming Crysis 3, and even released the original Crysis as a downloadable experience for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Now, the studio has celebrated the fifth anniversary of the series and hyped up the fact that fans can get the original Crysis 1 if they pre-order the upcoming Crysis 3 installment.

“It feels like yesterday that we were putting the finishing touches to Crysis,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek, in a statement. “The game changed everything for us as a company, and we remain incredibly proud of what we achieved with it.”

Crysis 3, the next part in the series, will be released in February, 2013, for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
