One of the leading developers working on Crysis 3 at Crytek has assured the PC fan base of the series that the game will include a number of platform specific features, although he has not detailed their exact nature.

Rasmus Højengaard, the senior creative director working on Crysis 3, has told Spong that “PC players, fundamentally only want Crysis to be on PC, right? And, you know, that’s kind of understandable when you consider how the original game – and even Crytek itself – started out.

“But, we’re definitely pushing this game a lot from a visual standpoint, and for sure there’s going to be visual goodies in it that you can only get if you have a super-high-end PC.”

He added, “At the same time, we want to ensure if you don’t have a super-high-end PC, the game will still look amazing. On top of that, we want to make sure the experience is not different from platform to platform.”

When the first Crysis was launched in 2007, it was only available on the PC and a lot of players were unable to try it out because they lacked powerful enough hardware.

The game has since been ported to both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 as a digital download.

Crysis 2 was launched simultaneously on all three gaming devices during 2011 and some PC-based fans complained that the console focus led to less graphical quality on their own platform.

After a series of leaks, Crytek was forced to officially reveal Crysis 3, which is set to be launched during 2013 and will take players back to New York to battle both human and alien forces.

The developers say that the new game will offer more variety when it comes to the environments and to the combat situations and that all players will be able to see a serious graphics upgrade.
