Crytek, the studio behind the recently released Crysis 3, has confirmed that it managed to get the new game running on the Nintendo Wii U platform but, due to business decisions between publisher Electronic Arts and Nintendo, the project was ultimately scrapped.

Crysis 3 came out last month across the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms, showing off the technical expertise of developer Crytek, which managed to squeeze out all the power of the different devices.

Sadly, the first-person shooter didn't appear on the Wii U, despite the fact that the game was in fact functional on the newly released console.

According to Crytek boss Cevat Yerli, who talked with Games Beat, his team managed to make the shooter run on the Wii U, but the whole project was scrapped because of business decisions made by publisher Electronic Arts and Nintendo itself.

As such, Crysis 3 has only appeared on the PC, PS3, and the Xbox 360.
