Crytek has now begun sending out the official invitations for the Crysis 2 multiplayer beta stage, which will be exclusive for Xbox 360 at this moment.

Crysis 2 is the sequel to one of the most graphically intensive PC titles ever released, and will finally bring its top notch visual presentation to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

As you can imagine, Crytek, the company developing the new game, wants to have the smoothest experience possible, and will employ several public beta stages.

The first one is officially underway, as the studio has begun sending invites for the Crysis 2 multiplayer beta to Xbox 360 users through email.

"As part of our continuing Crysis 2 development we will be performing a multiplayer test starting very soon," reads the email.

"For this test we will be inviting various community members to take part and help us push the game to its limits so we can make any adjustments necessary and ensure that we deliver the gameplay experience we know everyone wants to see!"

Only 'valued community members' of the MyCrysis website have been chosen to participate in the new beta stage, so don't make any false hopes.

According to Crytek, this first Crysis 2 multiplayer beta will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 "this time around", so PlayStation 3 or PC owners might also get their hands on it sometime in the future.

This first stage is set to begin "very soon", but a concrete date hasn't been revealed by the European development studio.

Crysis 2 is set to appear next year for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will continue the story of an Earth invaded by powerful aliens and task players with defeating them through the use of a nanosuit that grants special abilities.
