The development team at Paradox Interactive reveal a new piece of downloadable content for their grand strategy medieval game Crusader Kings II, called Sunset Invasion, which will see the Aztec armies invading the 13th century Europe.

The official statement from the company says, “Cower in fear at the invaders strange gods and rituals including the potential peril of having your vital organs offered up to these vengeful deities in sacrifice. Anything to keep them happy!”

The scenario is interesting because it’s a reversal of what has actually happened in real life, where Europeans devastated the American civilizations when they discovered the continent.

The Crusader Kings II community is very keen on historical detail and accuracy and it’s not clear how they will react to this clearly fantasy-based content.

Crusader Kings II: Sunset Invasion will be launched on November 15 of this year and will be offered for 4.99 dollars or Euro via digital distribution.
