Gamers will find it easier to use their military assets

The team at Paradox Development Studio is not ready to offer an official name for the coming expansion for Crusader Kings II, but the developers are eager to share more information about the changes they are making to the grand strategy experience.

In a forum post, they explain that a new region concept has been added, gathering provinces in historical appropriate groups to make it simpler to track characteristics and to calibrate the way events run.

The realism of Crusader Kings II will be improved as they are used by Paradox to make sure that no tigers pop up in Poland even if the capital of a major Indian empire appears in that region.

A new icon has been added to the Province interface to give players a chance to see them, and they can also be searched for.

The expansion for Crusader Kings II is also introducing forts, an entirely new holding type that can be created alongside trade posts and classic types.

Paradox states, "The fort can be built anywhere from your own territory even enemy provinces that you have under your control. Their biggest advantage is that they are fortifications that you can build up really fast and very cheaply. The main point of them being to let you build up a region as your march towards a big neighbor that will let you slow down their advance but at the same time let you set up forward positions in the enemy territory."

The new building will also allow gamers to better maintain the strength of their troops when they attack tribal nations, who tend to be very capable in their own territory.

Crusader Kings II is also getting a host of tweaks and bug fixes

The development team at Paradox is continuing the practice of delivering a major patch for free alongside all the paid expansions.

Some of the changes that will be made in the coming months can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

The new expansion for Crusader Kings II does not have a name, but it seems that the studio is working to improve the game both based on the feedback coming from the community and on ideas that can entirely change how the grand strategy title is played.

Until it arrives, Paradox fans will be able to play the new Common Sense content for Europa Universalis IV on June 9, and the World War II based Hearts of Iron IV is also set to arrive this year.
