A few hours ago, Philip Newborough proudly announced the next major version of his lightweight Linux distribution, CrunchBang 9.04.01. CrunchBang is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) and powered by the Openbox window manager. The good news is that, for the first time, CrunchBang is now available for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.

"After a slight delay and a prolonged testing period, the final builds of CrunchBang Linux 9.04.01 are now available. As the version number suggests, it is based on Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope. The builds were completed on the 6th July 2009 and contain all security and package updates available at that time." - Philip Newborough said in the official release announcement.
