Tom Cruise lost his temper in "Today" show from NBC, after the host Matt Lauer talked about Scientology and prescription drugs, reports The Associated Press.
Lauer asked the actor if he can be with someone who doesn't embraces his religion, referring to his lover Katie Holmes. Cruise said: "Scientology is something that you don't understand. It's like you could be a Christian and be a Scientologist.'' It is a religion in that it deals with the spirit, you as a spiritual being."
Cruise replied: "There's always cynics, always has been, always will be. I have never worried, Matt, about what other people think and what other people say."
When asked about his criticism Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants ( Ritalin), Cruise said he didn't know what he was talking about. ''You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do,'' Cruise said.
''Matt, Matt, you don't even -- you're glib,'' Cruise responded. "You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, Matt, OK. That's what I've done."
