CodeWeavers has released major new versions of its flagship solutions aimed at providing support for Windows applications on Mac OS X without the need of a virtual machine. CrossOver Mac allows users to install popular Windows applications and games on Mac OS X, while CrossOver Games specifically targets the gamer install-base with support for popular game titles.

CrossOver Mac 9.1.0 is all about fixing bugs, CodeWeavers has revealed. Application fixes include: improved installation of Office 2007 service packs; fixed product registration of Office 2007 and Office 2003; fixed some unimportant errors during installation of some versions of Office 2003; improved several connection and importation issues with Quicken 2010; fixed product registration of Project and Visio 2003; fixed Excel 2007 hyperlinks; fixed document saving in Publisher 2003; Fixed playing of mp3 files in Media Player 9; fixed custom installs of Office 2007; improved print to PDF in Office 2007;  and some minor improvements to IE6 and IE7.

Fixes aimed at the programs core functionality itself include improved proxy handling on the Gnome desktop, a fixed Mac upgrade problem related to the CD-helper being in use, and many improvements and bug fixes thanks to a merger with Wine version 1.2.

CrossOver Games 9.1.0 has added StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, and Star Trek Online as the latest supported games. The update also enables several application profile tune-ups, and contains numerous fixes for various popular games including FlatOut 2, Stranded 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Tales of Monkey Island, Lord of the Rings Online, and Dungeons and Dragons Online. Also noteworthy is the newly-added support for the 'Microsoft HTML Rendering Engine 7' package for use as a dependency in C4Ps that require it. CrossOver Mac 9.1.0 also merged with Wine 1.2.
