New versions of the popular CrossOver software which enables users to run Windows applications on Linux have been released. CrossOver 9.1.0 and CrossOver Games 9.1.0 are now available for download as trial versions. The biggest change is the update to Wine 1.2 as the underlying code base. “I am pleased to announce that we have shipped CrossOver 9.1 and CrossOver Games 9.1 for both Mac and Linux,” Jeremy White CEO of CodeWeavers, the company behind the CrossOver products, said in an email.

“The primary feature of these releases is that they fully include all of the work from the Wine 1.2 release. Wine 1.2 represents the hard work of over 300 authors, comprising over 23,000 separate changes. · Office 2007 service packs installation improvements;
· Product registration for Office 2007, Office 2003, Project and Visio 2003 now fixed;
· Improved several connection and importation issues with Quicken 2010;
· Excel 2007 hyperlinks fixed;
· Document saving in Publisher 2003 fixed;
· Windows Media Player 9 now plays mp3 files;
· Custom installs of Office 2007 fixed;
· Improved print to PDF in Office 2007;
· Some minor improvements to Internet Explorer 6 and 7;

CrossOver Fixes:
· Improved proxy handling on the Gnome desktop;
· Menus and Associations for Pardus Linux fixed;
· Updated Dutch and French translations;
· Made several application profile tune-ups;
· Merged with Wine version 1.2;
· Many improvements and bug fixes.

For gamers, CrossOver Games 9.1.0 brings support for many popular and recent games including the very new StarCraft II, but also Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Alien Swarm and Star Trek Online.
