A new kind of photovoltaic solar system has been recently introduced, marking a collaboration between ULMA Agrícola consortium and Tecnalia research center, providing clean green power and favoring crops at the same time.

The system exploits temperature oscillation and it is considered an ideal asset for every greenhouse, since it can respond to the power demand without impacting crop growth, by over-shading.

Judging by the first test results, the innovative photovoltaic module can supply greenhouses with up to 15 percent more electricity than its predecessors.

Moreover, the concept is considered revolutionary since it plays an important part in the seasonal control of the radiation and helps regulate the interior temperature of the greenhouse.

At the same time, the eco-friendly energy obtained is also cost-efficient, helping eco-conscious farmers increase their profits. According to its developers, other tests will be conducted in March, to prove its increased utility.
