Crocs o-dial

Crocs is a famous American company that designs and creates plastic shoes. As of May 2008, the European division of Crocs will introduce a new line of products. Not shoes, but mobile phone cases that look like shoes.

Named Crocs o-dial, the cases are designed to bring the vivid colors and fashionable looks that Crocs is known for to our mobile phones, to "dress" and protect them. The cases are universally-sized and come with an adjustable strap for easy carrying, and a plastic clip for waistband/belt/backpack attachment. Moreover, they have a raised inside surface specially designed to protect the device's display, plus an inside pocket where you can keep your credit cards and other stuff like that.

The cases will first be available in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Finland, with more countries to follow until the end of 2008. A Crocs o-dial phone case will cost you 9.95 Euro ($15 or ?7.5). You can choose from eight colors: red, black, silver, fuchsia, turquoise, grape, celery and cotton candy. Even more, the cases come with Jibbitz accessories so you can personalize them. Oh, what a joy! If you ask me, a Crocs o-dial case looks too girlish for a guy, so I assume they will only be popular among girls. Which is not bad for Crocs, as girls do like to spend money on fancy but not quite useful things.

People generally like Crocs shoes because they feel comfortable in them. They're really soft and lightweight (the shoes, not the people) and mold perfectly on the foot. So, yes, we could say the Crocs shoes might be just perfect for our feet - letting aside their design, which you either like or don't. But why would Crocs products be good for a mobile phone? Will they lead to mobile phone meetings (ahem) where a Sony Ericsson W960, for example, would step-up and say "my Crocs o-dial case is just awesome, I have a new life since I wear it"? We have to wait until May to find out.
