Microsoft will release this month’s Patch Tuesday updates today

Today is Patch Tuesday, so the Redmond-based technology giant Microsoft will release several new updates for its Windows operating system in just a few hours.

All Internet Explorer versions will be patched, while both Windows and Office will receive important updates supposed to address privately-reported vulnerabilities.

Even though it appears to be just a small Patch Tuesday cycle, security experts warn that you should install the updates as soon as possible, especially because they’re supposed to fix issues in the default Windows browser.

As usual, all security bulletins will be distributed via the integrated Windows Update tool, so make sure you’re connected to the Internet later today.

This is the last Patch Tuesday rollout before the new Windows 8.1 Preview sees daylight, so it’s pretty important to patch your systems in case you decide to deploy the upcoming Windows 8 makeover.
