The Disney remake of the children's classic “The Jungle Book” is shaping up to be a star-studded affair with some incredible voice talent. Granted, the remake has a lot of work cut out if it's to have a chance to outshine the original version, but the studio is certainly taking steps in the right direction.

Deadline reports that actor Christopher Walken has just been added to the cast and he's been given the role of King Louie, the mischievous king of the monkeys and apes. An additional casting announcement is the fact that Giancarlo Esposito has been given the role of Akela, the leader of the wolf pack.

The cast for the live-action and animation adaptation was already full of celebrities such as Lupita Nyong'o, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley and Scarlett Johansson among others. It's interesting to see what the studio is going to make of this mixture of live acting and animation and where they are going to take the story.

The only actor to appear on screen is Neel Sethi, who will be playing the main part, the role of Mowgli, the jungle boy. The rest of the cast is only going to be lending their voices to their animated counterparts.

The 3D film is scheduled for release in theaters on October 9, 2015.
