There are few cymbal-manufacturers in the world and even fewer of them are leading the markets. Sabian is a name that can battle at any time any of the other giants from the industry, like Paiste or Zildjian. Until little time ago, the HHX was one of the top series at Sabian... this hasn't changed but for better as the HHX series has a new member in the body of the HHX X-Celerator hi-hat.

This new contraption form Sabian comes to top the already top-shelf HHX hi-hats, renowned and
used throughout the entire world in both the rock/metal bands and the bluesy/softer ones. The X-Celerator sports a redesigned bottom part now named the “Air Wave” which reportedly eliminates airlocks and retains the sound precise projection even if the overall acoustic is way “darker” and “thicker” than the rest.

Developed for hi-speed playing, the HHX X-Celerator will not lose any of the cutting highs that have become tradition in the Sabian top-end cymbal-family. The simmering sound previously generated by a HHX only was kept and even made better by combining the medium top part running over the heavy bottom.

Now, after saying so many good things, I hope you don't expect anything but a serious price. The average price for the US is very close to $400 so it's more than clear that the Sabian HHX X-Celerator is no toy. Sabian are very confident in the future of this small wonder as they have produced it in the three classic sizes often met in the hi-hat world: 13”, 14” and the large 15” model.

Using the classic secret B20 bronze alloy (80% bronze+silver, 20% tin), these hi-hats are Sonically Matched individually and come in either natural or brilliant finish, quality-protected under the Sabian two-year warranty. Drum on!
