US-based carrier Cricket Wireless has just announced the upcoming availability of the iPhone 4 and 4S on its airwaves. Customers will be able to purchase any of the two smartphones beginning June 22, which is two days after Galaxy S III’s launch in the country.

According to Cricket, iPhone 4S will be available for $499.99 USD (405 EUR) for the 16GB model, while the iPhone 4 will be available for $399.99 USD (320 EUR).

Cricket Wireless is the first prepaid carrier in the United States to offer Apple’s iPhone 4S. Both smartphones will be available with the operator’s $55 USD per-month, all-inclusive unlimited talk, text and data plan.

Keep in mind that Cricket Wireless’ unlimited data offering falls within its fair usage policy of 2.3GB per month. It is also worth mentioning that iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 will be available in Cricket brick and mortar stores and select dealers in nearly 60 markets.

Apple’s iPhone 4S will be shipped with iOS 5.1 onboard, along with the company’s highly-acclaimed, but pretty controversial, Siri app. The latter is an intelligent assistant that is meant to help users get information or execute various commands by simply using their voice.

Obviously, the smartphone offers a set of free cloud services, which are compatible with iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC, and allows users to automatically and wirelessly store their content in iCloud and push it to all their supported devices.

Our customers want the best products available and we are excited to bring iPhone to our pre-paid consumers with an industry leading $55 per-month service plan. Launching iPhone is a major milestone for us and we are proud to offer iPhone customers attractive nationwide coverage, a robust 3G data network and a value-packed, no-contract plan,” said Doug Hutcheson, president and chief executive officer, Leap Wireless International, Inc.
