On Wednesday, wireless carrier Cricket announced the launch of Samsung Galaxy S III on its network, at $549.99 / €439 (MSRP).

The 4.8-inch Android flagship smartphone will be available at the wireless carrier with no contract, unlimited data, talk and text plans from $50 per month, the company notes.

Users interested in the purchase of the new smartphone will find it available at Cricket-owned stores, dealers and at www.mycricket.com by November 23, 2012.

Samsung Galaxy S III is the second 4G LTE smartphone to make an appearance on shelves at Cricket, capable of providing users with a great experience while on the go.

“The Samsung Galaxy S III is a revolutionary 4G LTE smartphone and will be available at Cricket in time for the holidays,” said Matt Stoiber, senior vice president of devices for Cricket.

“As we continue to expand our 4G LTE network, the Galaxy S III excels in both our 4G and 3G LTE markets. We are very proud to offer our customers the highest level of wireless technology on one of the coolest devices in the market today.”

In addition to the 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, Galaxy S III also features a fast 1.5GHz dual-core processor, as well as a 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery packed inside.

Moreover, the new device sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as a 1.9-megapixel HD front facing camera for making video calls.

Running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the smartphone also packs features such as the S Voice technology, which makes it easier to use.

Cricket users will be able to enjoy this smartphone’s LTE capabilities in markets such as Philadelphia, Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, Corpus Christi and the Brownsville-McAllen-Harlingen market, Texas, as well as in Las Vegas and Tucson.

“The Samsung Galaxy S III is available on Cricket's new 4G LTE Android Double Data service plans that offer, for a limited time, double the monthly full speed data allowance offered in Cricket's 3G rate plans,” the wireless carrier announced.

“The $50 4G LTE Android Double Data Rate Plan allows 2GB of full-speed data; the $60 plan allows 5GB of full-speed data and the $70 plan offers 10GB of full-speed data.”
