Molds are used to have pears grow out into the shape of children

Creepy pears resembling babies with very distinct facial features are probably the oddest thing to come from China, at least in the last week or two.

These baby pears could really frighten you once you open the fridge, or they could prove an interesting party treat, until you get to the point when you're nibbling on a baby's face.

What's interesting is that, as you can see, they are not carved in order to look like they do, they are grown this way. A mold is placed around them at an early stage, and afterwards the features expand as the fruit is growing.

Rocket News shares that the product can be found at a supermarket in Beijing, and even the Japanese are a little bit scared of them.
