Chinese nationals Zhang Shun and Li Jun, known for developing and using a destructive piece of malware known as the Panda Virus (Fujacks), are once again facing charges. This time, it’s for their role in the operation of an illegal gambling website.

The two were sentenced in 2007. After being released from jail, they launched a legitimate chess website and even made a donation to a panda breeding center to show that they’d come around.

However, after seeing that the chess website wasn’t bringing them too much money, they decided to turn it into a gambling site. Since gambling is illegal in mainland China, authorities soon caught up with their activities and arrested them.

According to the People’s Daily Online, the case involves 26 people, including Zhang and Li. Authorities say the suspects made 76 million yuan (12.4 million USD / 9.10 million EUR) from their gambling activities.
