The creators of Wurm Online, an MMORPG game, are offering a €10,000 / $13,755 reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to the conviction of the individuals who have disrupted the game with distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks.

Wurm’s developers say the latest DDOS attack, launched shortly after an update was rolled out on February 18, has forced the hosting provider to pull the game offline.

The company is planning on migrating to another hosting provider, but in the meantime, they’re offering the reward for “any tips or evidence leading to a conviction of the person responsible for this attack.”

On the Wurm forums, there’s a lot of speculation as to why someone would launch a DDOS attack against the game’s servers. Some believe the attackers might want to blackmail the company, while others say it could be a banned player seeking revenge.
