Today, Creative has just made available a new firmware package targeted at its Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage wireless headset and USB wireless transmitter, namely version 1.58.A, which can be applied only on Windows-based configurations.

Specifically speaking, this fresh release is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 operating systems. Even though other platforms might be suitable as well, we do not recommend installing this release on other OSes than the ones specified.

When it comes to changes, the newly released update includes several fixes targeted at the USB transmitter that resolve the firmware upgrade, intermittent connectivity, and LED light up issues.

As for applying this firmware, you should get and extract the downloadable archive and upgrade the transmitter and headset one at a time. Also, you must manually repair the devices after the installation has completed.

Therefore, in order to install this release, connect only the USB transmitter to your computer, run the executable that best describes your WRN tag from the newly created folder, and click “Upgrade.” Now follow the on-screen instructions and click “Close” when the update has finished.

Afterwards, remove the USB transmitter, connect the wireless headset, and repeat once more the above-describes steps. When complete, don’t forget to repair the devices so that they can be properly used.

Still, bear in mind that during the upgrade process, you mustn’t shut down or reboot the computer so that the units’ firmware don’t encounter any malfunctions.

That being said, download Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless Firmware 1.58.A, take into account the aforementioned aspects, apply the new firmware, and enjoy your newly updated devices.
