New Creative X-Fi Sound Card for notebooks

Earlier this week, we told you that, on September 17, Creative was expected to release a new X-Fi product, which was promoted by means of an "I am Heard Everywhere" campaign. Today is the 17th and, as it turns out, the company has kept its promise by unveiling the new X-Fi Notebook ExpressCard, a new high-end portable audio solution designed for those notebook users that require a high-quality audio support.

 

As mentioned above, it comes in an ExpressCard form and is part of the company's extensive X-Fi lineup. The new soundcard has been designed to easily fit a notebook computer system and improve its audio quality, making gaming and music listening much more pleasant.

 

"The Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook and Creative Wireless Receiver were designed to dramatically improve the sound quality of all of the music, movies and games on your notebook PC and play it wirelessly anywhere in your home. This allows you to put your speaker systems where you want them without having them tied to your laptop and stuck on your desk," said Steve Erickson, vice president and general manager of audio for Creative Labs Inc.

 

One of the most significant features of this new Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook is the fact that it can be combined with the Creative Wireless Receiver, enabling users to listen to music, without directly connecting the speakers to their portable computer systems. In addition, the new Creative soundcard for notebooks also incorporates the company's CMSS-3D technology, meant to deliver incredible 3D positional audio experience.

 

Furthermore, the manufacturer also announced that for an $89.99 price, the X-Fi soundcard will be offered with a free download of PowerDVD software with full DTS and Dolby Digital decoding support, and it will be available come the end of next month.
