A treehouse is the perfect getaway spot for children and adults alike, and is a good way to entertain your kids, as they can play games and have adventures in there. But the art of building a treehouse is getting more and more advanced and complex, as parents come up with more intricate designs for the structures.

A Californian builder, for instance, has taken the idea a step forward by creating a treehouse based on an Apollo spaceship capsule.

Contractor Cy Lo used his rich imagination to build a replica Apollo capsule from recycled materials: a plastic water tank for the body of the spacecraft and a few vegetable steamers as satellite dishes. He spent three weeks assembling the structure in his workshop in San Francisco, and the entire project cost him around $7,000 (€5,140).

Inside the capsule, Mr. Lo created a control center from used parts found in a buildings materials warehouse, Metro informs. On the outside, the unique playhouse is adorned with NASA livery.

After finishing the project, the creative father-of-two lifted the spaceship on to a platform, so that it looked like it had crash-landed in a tree.

“Originally I envisioned a pirate ship stuck in a tree but the boy said he was too old for pirates. He said he was completely into space with a special interest in the Apollo program,” Mr. Lo said.
