Creative has long been a supplier of high-end audio solutions, and the latest in its series of headsets are a pair of Sound Blaster-branded products, the Tactic 3D Alpha and Tactic 3D Sigma, which offer the benefits of THX TruStudio Pro Surround Audio technology.

According to the official press release, these two newcomers are “are the first Sound Blaster headsets to feature a unique 360-degree audio system, which is also fully customizable.”

What this means is that, by virtue of the aforementioned THX TruStudio Pro Surround Audio technology, the headsets can create audio all around the wearer, as well as above and below.

The THX TruStudio technology was created by sound engineers at Creative Labs in conjunction with THX.

There are a number of proprietary TruStudio features that actually enhance the audio experience during games.

For one, THX TruStudio Pro Dialog Plus enhances voices during in-game communications, making easier to hear it over ambient noises and other sounds.

Another asset is the THX TruStudio Pro Bass, which lets one customize bass levels.

There is also the THX TruStudio Pro Smart Volume, which keep volume levels from spiking by keeping track of in-game audio volume.

Finally, the THX TruStudio Pro Crystalizer enhances in-game sound by restoring high and low end frequency curves that may have been lost during compression.

Basically, the Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Alpha and Tactic 3D Sigma will refine audio in multiple ways, even while letting one customize the experience via the included software.

As for the hardware itself, the company used Neodymium drivers of 40mm for the Alpha and 50mm for the Sigma, plus a noise-canceling microphone and a steel core headband on the Sigma, for better durability.

The Tactic 3D Alpha and Sigma will be priced at $59.99 and $89.99, respectively, and will start selling later this month.
