Glu Mobile Inc. has announced its new Safari Zoo game for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It’s a free download from the iTunes App Store and it lets you earn currency through special offers.

Safari Zoo is aimed at kids who want to build, maintain and interacti with their very own preserve of exotic wild animals.

“With rich 3D graphics, Safari Zoo brings elephants, zebras, monkeys and lions to life in ways never before seen,” says Glu. “Players are also guided through a variety of quests to experience all that their Safari Zoo has to offer.”

To get up close and personal with the wild animals of Africa, players must protect and care for 24 different animal species.

Kids will build their very own wildlife Zoo and tend to wild and endangered animals.

Species include Chimps, Zebras, Lions, Giraffes and Elephants.

Players will expand their Zoo with guest tents, shops, visitor centers and more. According to Glu, Safari Zoo includes the following key features:

Construct Your Own Safari Zoo – Place animal bases and decorations across the park and keep the donations rolling in by building guest tents and shops for tourists. All Natural Environments – See each animal thrive in its natural habitat and don’t forget to feed them regularly for extra rewards. Beautifully Rendered and Animated 3D Animals – Interact with detailed animals that mimic realistic actions from the wild. Earn Game Center Achievements – Earn numerous different Game Center achievements and compare your progress with your friends.

Although Safari Zoo is free to play, avid players will have the ability to earn loot through special offers, as well as to purchase additional Coins for real money.

Glu cautions parents to adjust the device settings if they wish to lock out the ability to make in-app purchases.

Available for free from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, Glu’s Safari Zoo is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and both of Apple’s iPads. It requires iOS 3.1.2 or later.
