A crafty dad from California made his son’s dream come true after building an incredible roller coaster for him in their backyard.

One day, when Will Pemble and his son Lyle were returning home from a trip to a local theme park, the boy asked his father to build a roller coaster at their home in San Francisco, so the two set out to create this amazing DIY project.

“We were just back from one of many amusement park trips and Lyle asked a simple question, ‘Why don’t we build our own rollercoaster, dad?’” Will recalls.

“I couldn’t think of a single good reason to say no so Lyle and I headed off to the lumber yard for a few supplies.”

The pair called their daring DIY project Coaster Dad and even set up a blog on which Will, who works as an e-commerce management consultant, documented the building process.

According to Daily Mail, the skilled dad spent approximately $3,500 (€2,520) on materials for the 180-foot (55-meter) long roller coaster, and it took him around six months to complete the complex structure.

Now, the project is complete, and the coaster stretches around the Pembles' huge backyard. Mr. Pemble tested it using a frame on wheels and determined that it was fully functional. It now serves as “an unending source of excitement, challenge, education, and connection” for the family and their friends.
