CradlePoint has announced the availability of a new firmware update developed for its routers, namely version 5.2.3, which improves compatibility of default routers with networking protocols, as well as DHCP relay support across a VPN tunnel.

In addition to that, the new update adds the ability to use Multicast for GRE tunnels, enhances the routing feature, adjusts LP and LPE products (for maintained T-Mobile LTE access and use), and installs OpenSSL version 1.0.1i even though no exposure was reported with the previous build.

As for the compatible devices, this release can be applied only on the producer’s AER2100, MBR1400 HW v2.0, MBR1400, MBR1200B, IBR600, IBR650, and CBA750B routers.

Therefore, if you intend to make use of these changes, then save the appropriate .bin file specifically developed for your router, make sure the device is connected to the computer through an Ethernet cable, and log into the device’s administration page.

From there, navigate to the “Firmware Update” section and use the newly downloaded file to update your router’s firmware.

Bear in mind that, while the upgrade is in progress, you mustn’t remove the Ethernet cable or the device’s power adaptor, nor turn off or restart the router. Doing so will crash the update, which can also lead to serious device malfunctions.

Moreover, upon completion, it would be best to log back into the user interface and check the currently installed firmware to ensure the process has been successful.

That being said, download CradlePoint Router Firmware 5.2.3 for your specific device model, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your router’s software version. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
