CradlePoint has released the 4.2.1 firmware version that is targeted at 9 of its routers, and replaces the 4.2.0 package.

Besides the MBR1400, MBR1400V2, CBR400, CBR450, IBR600 and IBR650 routers that were already supported by the previous version, the new release includes the MBR1200B, MBR95, and CBA750B routers as well.

Moreover, a bunch of other modems from BandLuxe, Franklin, Huawei, LG, Micromax, Novatel, ZTE, and many others have been tested with this firmware and are compatible with it – but let’s focus on Cradlepoint.

Although no new features have been added to this release, a problem that was found in the 4.2.0 version is fixed and integrated into this 4.2.1 package. The fix affects new features of future upgrades, which will not be set correctly if the manual update method is used (although it will work).

In addition, the firmware adds support for Internet Explorer 10 Compatibility View.

If you consider installing this version, you should know that it is always a good idea to backup the current configuration settings, so that in case any problems appear, the solution is quick and easily available.
