CradlePoint has released new firmware packages targeted at several of its routers that lower the “Heartbleed” bug (CVE-2014-0160) impact by updating the OpenSSL version to 1.0.1g.

As for the versions, the producer has outed firmware 4.3.3 for CBR400 and CBR450 routers and 5.0.4 for the MBR95 unit, as well as the 5.1.1 update compatible with CradlePoint’s AER2100, MBR1400V2, MBR1400, MBR1200B, IBR600, IBR650, and CBA750B devices.

Besides the above-mentioned adjustment, version 4.3.3 also adds a WiPipe Central replacement, namely the Enterprise Cloud Manager (ECM), while firmware 5.1.1 includes support for various USB modems, as well as several other changes.

Update 5.1.1 adds SNMP modem diagnostics, client site visit reporting feature to the log that reports, and an Active/Passive DNS Failure Check option to the Ethernet WAN sources. Also, VOIP packets can now be prioritized and local SSH has been changed to enabled by default.

In addition to that, RADIUS timeout and retry settings are now available in Hotspot support, VPN tunnel issues regarding IE9 and IE10 are fixed, SSH to Serial port data errors are resolved, and GRE failover feature now works properly.

Moreover, firmware 5.1.1 makes several other changes that you can view on the description page of each download record.
