Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has fired up in early December its 4G LTE Network around the United States, a new company has announced today plans to support the roll-out, namely CradlePoint, with its series of Mobile Broadband Routers and Adapters.

CradlePoint offers wireless connectivity to end-users and businesses around the world via mobile data networks operated by major carriers.

The new announcement is meant to enable business, home and individual customers on Verizon Wireless's network to benefit from fast and reliable access to the wireless carrier's 4G LTE network, the company announced.

CradlePoint would deliver access to Big Red's 4G LTE Network via a series of CradlePoint routers that make use of Verizon external USB data modem sticks, as well as CradlePoint’s new integrated modems aimed at business users.

“As the leader in 4G/3G networking, CradlePoint is committed to delivering new LTE technology to our customers in a way that provides business-grade performance while protecting their investment from the rapid changes inherent in wireless communications technology,” said Pat Sewall, CEO of CradlePoint.

“The combination of CradlePoint routers and the Verizon 4G LTE network delivers a high quality of experience at a cost point that is unmatched by wired Internet alternatives.”

CradlePoint notes that it has extensively tested its products to offer the best performance, and that it managed to achieve download speeds of 40 Mbps (Mbps = million bits-per-second), a speed almost 30-50 times faster than the download speed of a 3G/EVDO modem.

CradlePoint plans on offering support for the Pantech LTE UML290 USB modem on its existing product series, including the CTR500, CBA250, CBA750, MBR1000, and MBR1200, and a new Portable Router set to make an appearance at CES in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2011.

“Additional testing on these products has demonstrated excellent performance in several cities served with the Verizon 4G LTE Network, generating average download speeds ranging from 15 to 20Mbps. Support for additional Verizon Wireless LTE modems is under development,” the company continued.
