The lead singer of the rock band The Babyshambles and Kate Moss' alleged fiancé was arrested again last night for no less that seven charges of possession, only a few hours later after he claimed during an interview to be a completely changed man.
Doherty is the proud 'owner' of a long string of drug charges and sentences, but this time it really seemed that he was on the right track. After a judge sentenced him to a mandatory 18-month rehabilitation program and following many court hearings meant to evaluate his progress, Doherty made a visit to a Portuguese clinic where he had a special implant put in his stomach.
The device was meant to help his organism fight the cocaine addiction. And the fact that supermodel Kate Moss patched things up with the junkie Doherty (whom she left a while ago after the drug scandal in which she was also involved) and rumor even had it they were planning to get married this weekend in Ibiza could also have been interpreted as a new step towards a drug-free life.
Pete was detained last night in London and charged with seven counts of possession of A-list drugs, including heroin, cocaine and cannabis. The troubled rocker was not released on bail due to his previous brush-offs with the law and a court hearing was scheduled for this morning.

Rumors that he was not as clean of drugs as he claimed started to circulate earlier this week, when a source said that, prior to a live performance in a London pub, he burst into the ladies' bathroom and vomited. It was implied at the time that the reaction was due to the presence of the stomach implant, which causes said reaction when the person who has it is taking drugs.
But both he and Moss still held strong to their claim that Doherty had been off drugs for a long time. When recent pictures of him obviously drunk or high appeared in a tabloid, the two lovebirds refused to make any further comment. Newspapers are now anxiously waiting to see what Kate's reaction to her boyfriend's latest misadventure will be.
