Microsoft has confirmed that it's working with original Crackdown creator Dave Jones to bring forth a reboot of the open world experience onto the Xbox One in the future, and has rolled out a stunning cinematic video showing some of the action that will be possible in the new game.

Crackdown 1 appeared way back in 2007 for the Xbox 360 and stunned the world with a gorgeous open world experience in which players could hunt down one another and cause all sorts of destruction.

Crackdown 2 was highly anticipated but, since the original team led by Dave Jones was in charge of that project, it failed to live up to expectations.

Now, it seems that Microsoft has learned its lesson and has brought back Jones to reboot the series for the Xbox One console.

"Developed by original creator Dave Jones, Crackdown on Xbox One will deliver unrivaled verticality, cooperative mayhem and destruction. Whether you’re playing the Campaign with friends or enjoying an entirely new competitive Crackdown experience powered by Xbox Live, you’ll never look at an open-world game the same way again," the company said on the Xbox Wire.

In order to get people excited about the new experience, a special cinematic trailer has been revealed at E3 2014, so check it out below.
