Cowon's iAudio 7 and D2 are the company's best products. Therefore, to make them even more popular on the electronic devices market, the manufacturers have upgraded the players at up to 16GB for the iAudio 7 and up to 8GB for the D2 media player.
Besides that, everything else seems to be the same as it was. To remind you of a couple of specs of the two devices, I should start with the iAudio 7, which supports a wide array of file formats, such as MP3, OGG, WMA, ASF, FLAC, WAV, MPEG4 (video)
playback, TXT, JPEG and more. As for its extra features, the Cowon device features an integrated FM radio with recording option, a voice recorder and a line-in recorder.
The former internal memory storage was of 8Gb maximum. It reveals the same 1.4 inch 160 x 128 TFT LCD screen display, while the built-in rechargeable lithium battery life is still of 60 hours of playback. Among extra specs there is also a clock, alarm option, scheduled recording feature, sleep timer, auto power-off and more.
The other one, D2, is a real bomb on the market, being a video and audio player, FM tuner, voice recorder, as well as text and photo viewer, all in one. Besides that, it reveals a nice 2.5 inch 16 million 24bit TFT LCD screen display, complimented with an elegant and trendy touchscreen. A remarkable detail would be its 52 hours of continuous playback, and 10 hours for the movie content.
As for D2's specifications, the player can deal with a lot of file formats: MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, WAV, APE (audio); AVI, MPEG, WMV and TV out support for the video files, WMA for the voice recording and finally, JPG for photo viewing. Of course, Cowon enhanced it with the capability of dealing with TXT formats.
Until recently, the media player could only support 4GB of internal memory storage, but now the memory has been doubled. And using the SD card and MMC card slot it can do even better. Since I am pretty sure there are a lot of interested geeks among you, I should inform you that Cowon announced both cool players to be available anytime now. The D2 is said to retail for 250 bucks, while the iAudio 7 should carry a 300 bucks price tag a pop!
