A dairy farmer in Cuba has encountered a rare event – a cow giving birth to four healthy calves.

According to the Examiner, this only happens about one in 665,000 times in deliveries by dairy cows. When births such as this one take place, the calves don't usually survive them.

Andres Rodriguez, a veterinarian and administrator at the farm in Picadura, Cuba, is very proud of the four calves. He administrates the state-owned farm but also assists with deliveries.

The rare birth took place on August 29, and the mother is a 3-year-old cow named Aleli.

Aleli had three sons and a fourth calf which is a hermaphrodite, having both male and female reproductive parts.

They have not encountered any health or developmental issues as of yet.
