Former “Melrose Place” and “Ally McBeal” star Courtney Thorne Smith has never tried to make a secret of or lie about her love of Botox. Now, she can even speak up for it, as she’s just been named the official face of the wrinkle-blasting treatment.

People magazine got in touch with Courtney, who reveals she’s actually counting on Botox to help her keep all sings of old age at bay, at least for many years to come still.

This probably explains why she’s always been so upfront about getting the injections: they work and it makes her happy.

“It’s never been a secret in my personal life – I’ve just never been asked by the press. I’ve used it, I like it, it works well for me. That’s just the simple truth,” the 44-year-old actress says.

Not only does Botox remove wrinkles but, Courtney has found, it also does so without making her look like an entirely different person: she’s still her, but without the deep lines on her face.

“I found I’ve been able to use it and have full expression and look really normal. I found the frown line was distracting me – I was conscious of it. Now I’m not,” she says for the aforementioned publication.

Nevertheless, just because she uses Botox, Courtney isn’t ready yet to have something else done to her face as well. She doesn’t rule out plastic surgery completely either.

“My hope is that if I take good care of my skin and use Botox, I won’t have to use anything else,” the actress says, putting her trust in Botox and her own good genes.

Still, “Never say never. I always want to look like myself – that’s key for me. I don’t want to look like a different person, I don’t want my face frozen,” she adds.
