Controversial tabloid figures Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison are yet to take over your TV, even though they've been working on a television deal for months. The two have just turned down a very lucrative offer for a VH1 reality show, Radar Online has learned.

Stodden and Hutchison came to the attention of the international media shortly after they got married, mostly because she was 16 at the time and he was 51. Courtney is now 17.

However, they became even more infamous when the press got a better look at Courtney who, at her tender age, looks and acts as if she was much older – and that without even mentioning the way she dresses.

Shortly after they broke on the scene, speculation started making the rounds that their marriage was only as good as a potential reality show: in other words, that they married because they wanted to land a reality series.

An offer was recently made to them to be on a new VH1 show, but they turned it down, the aforementioned e-zine informs.

Called Relationship Rehab, the show listed John Irwin of Celebrity Rehab as producer, and would have had the two starring in the first 8 episodes.

A source close to the couple tells Radar it's the very name of the show that put them off, even though the money offered was good.

“Though Doug and Courtney considered the offer, in the end they felt that this wasn't a perfect fit for the kind of show they wanted to do,” says the insider.

“There has been a lot of speculation about their marriage and a lot of people are just waiting for the inevitable 'train wreck' to happen, but Doug and Courtney have an incredibly strong relationship and seem very happy together, adds the spy.

“So doing a show about going into 'rehab' just doesn't make sense for them,” the insider further says.

Of course, there's also the possibility that Courtney and Doug refused to be on this particular show because they're still hoping to land their own, on which they wouldn't have to share the camera with other couples.

As interest in them is dwindling, they are growing desperate because the longer it takes for them to land a deal, the fewer chances they have to actually get their own show, voices online are saying.
