Celebrities are no strangers to financial problems, despite making more money in a month than regular folks make in years. Just recently, Hugh Hefner was
forced to sell his mansion, while Nicolas Cage was
taken to court twice over unpaid taxes and fees. Rocker Courtney Love has been hit hard too, to the point that she is left with just $120 in the bank,
The Sun says.
Courtney holds most of the rights for Kurt Cobain’s music catalog, but it seems that’s not enough to pay the bills, put food on the table and prevent her from being evicted from her house, from what friends are telling the media. Apparently, the singer has been complaining to them that she’s hit rock bottom and has nowhere to turn. The situation is so desperate, they say, that she can’t even afford to buy her daughter a decent meal.
“I’m [expletive] now dude. I have 120 bucks, my kid hasn’t had a decent meal and I’m getting evicted.” Love reportedly said in a text message to an unnamed friend. The singer is currently living at New York’s Mercer Hotel. Francis Bean, her and Kurt’s 17-year-old daughter, is also staying with her, which means she too is in danger of being evicted because Love can’t afford to pay the bills.
“The skint former Hole
singer was last month banned from accessing the trust fund left for her daughter when husband Kurt Cobain killed himself in 1994. She claims she has had more than £300million stolen from her by fraudsters since 2003 and has even hired investigators to try to track it down. The pal said: ‘She has really hit rock bottom. She’s a financial disaster.’” The Sun further says of Love’s dreadful financial prospects.
As also noted above – not that it can be of any consolation for Love if the rumor is accurate –, Nicolas Cage, one of the highest earning actors in Hollywood, is also in some financial trouble. A while back, the IRS filed a lien in Louisiana saying Cage owed $6.2 million in backward taxes (for 2007), while today it emerged that the East West Bank filed a
lawsuit against him for defaulting on a $2-million loan.
