The controversial rock singer has finally managed to put some order into her life and apparently leave her tense and sometimes-not-so-hot past behind her. Love, who is now 43, took off her clothes for the latest issue of "Harper's Bazaar" and spoke very frankly about weight loss, taking drugs and straightening up her life.
She looks at us with a glint of irony in her eye from a lavish sofa under the heading "I'd rather go naked than wear fake Channel". Now that statement, as you might or might not know, is in itself brimming with irony and sends us back earlier this year, when the singer appeared at Paris Hilton's birthday party dressed in a Lagerfeld copycat gown. It's also ironic, but this time in a good way, that Karl Lagerfeld did the photo shoot as well as the interview for Love's upcoming cover appearance. "In a way, it's insanely subversive, because I don't think anyone has done fake couture before. But honest to God, I did not know. I hope it was burned", she comments in a not-too-repentant manner referring to the incident with the dress.
But this time, the Channel is authentic, and so are the shoes and strategically placed jewelry she's wearing. It can't go unnoticed that Love lost quite a lot of weight, and she's proudly displaying her slim, toned figure while engaging in conversation about what made her want to change yet again her lifestyle and habits. "I've lost a lot of weight, and I have done it through being quite disciplined… Some people think it's about weight loss, but it's about detoxing" says Love, who openly admits she used to be addicted to prescription pills. "For many years, I took pills. I felt like I had this dirty secret. And I cracked in public, and so I lost all my credibility".

Her frankness and sharp, blunt manner is all we've learned to expect from the rock star, who changed her musical style and look several times along her career and whose weight has fluctuated freely along the years. So is this the final makeover? We sure hope so, seeing that she looks toned and confident...and is not taking herself or the Hollywood dream factory too seriously. "I hate reading magazines where the actresses are saying, 'Broccoli and fish, broccoli and fish... You liars. You bulimic liars". Well, after that comment all we can add is that her new album "Nobody's Daughter", for which she wrote many of the songs, will be out next year. Good luck.
