Newly engaged couple Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid are currently in Northern Ireland, the rocker's native country, enjoying some time off and they're mixing business with pleasure. The purpose of the visit was to go back to the Snow Patrol singer's hometown to celebrate his birthday, but it turns out that they also went ring shopping.

Rumors also indicate that the two are looking for a wedding venue in town. We can't know that for sure, but what is certain is that Cox and McDaid did pick up a pair of custom-made rings from a local shop.

Erin Kearney, a shop assistant at the local D. Cooley Jewellers, gushed to People, “I couldn't believe it was them. I mean, nobody famous ever comes to Derry.” The enthused shopkeeper invited the celebrities inside her shop. Once there, they browsed the items of display and decided to buy a pair of gold earrings for Courteney's daughter.

Also on the shopping list was a pair of custom-made Derry wedding bands, since the couple announced their engagement several weeks ago.

The shopkeeper joked that “I don't think they will use them as wedding bands, but they seemed to be delighted with them. Courteney said she loved Derry and couldn't wait to return.” The rings in question are simple wedding bands with some nautical motifs engraved on the side, something typical of the town where they were made, which is why Courteney wanted to buy them in the first place.

Another person in the shop at the time also added, “They are the loveliest couple and are so down to earth that they did not mind getting photos or talking to us.”

Since Derry is such a tight-knit community, it wasn't long before everyone noticed that there were a couple of celebrities present, and they quickly became the center of attention. “Coco was great too. She loved the city also and was spending quality time with Johnny's two sisters. They were all so happy,” said an eye witness.

Ever the good hosts, the shopkeepers of Derry made gifts to the actress and her daughter, Coco, to remember them by. The owner of a nearby gift shop gave Coco an emerald and silver shamrock necklace as a souvenir and as a thank you that she posed for photos with the townsfolk.

The widespread rumor of the day was that Cox and McDaid were going to have their wedding in Northern Ireland after there were seen scouring the beach, presumably looking for a suitable location to hold the ceremony.
