The bear often accompanies the head of the house to the local bar

Mark and Dawn Dumas from Vancouver are some of the very few people who can take pride in having a rather unusual – and even dangerous – animal as a pet. Thus, the couple's 18-months bundle of joy is a grizzly bear named Billy.

According to sources, the couple bought the bear from a private zoo when the animal was just a cub, and have done a rather great job in raising it.

Truth be told, this is probably because they are both trained animal handlers, and therefore really know their way around wildlife.

One might assume that Billy only gets to play outside the house, but it seems that its owners have no issues in allowing it to visit the inside of their household every once in a while, provided that no considerable damage is being done to the furniture.

As well as this, Mark often lets Billy accompany him to the local bar. Once the bear gets there, “He gets to sniff around, he smells new things, he gets to see everything's different [from home], and then settle in and get rewarded, like he gets his ice tea.”
