
After 12 years and twelve albums, country music star Toby Keith will also star in a movie.
The 44-year-old musician, who had worked in the oil industry and played defensive end with the Oklahoma City Drillers United States Football League (USFL) team, will have the main part in an untitled project for Paramount Home Entertainment/CMT, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie tells the story of Bean Porter, a country music singer who has fallen from the spotlight and returns to his hometown where he is reunited with his childhood sweetheart, and has the chance to meet his 16-year-old daughter for the first time.
The shooting for the movie, which is to be directed by Steven Goldmann, (Bruce Springsteen: A Secret History), is set to begin in October in Atlanta.
