The issue has been known for quite some time

A Counter-Strike: Global Offensive veteran player created a video showcasing a well-known issue from the popular tactical first-person shooter, having to do with hit boxes and jumping.

The issue has been plaguing the game for quite some time, and developer Valve needs to step up and take measures against it, as it affects the gameplay experience of many players who don’t even know what exactly is going on, but who keep missing their mark in-game.

Fortunately, YouTube user adreN_TV put together a helpful video showcasing the issue and explaining the mechanics behind it, as well as what players can do in order to get around it.

The video shows the player testing the bug on his own server, replicating the bug time after time. The problem is that, when jumping, the character model is represented much higher client-side than its actual hit box is server-side, which leads to many players aiming for the head and completely missing their target, due to this discrepancy.

The issue comes into play on popular map de_dust2, where the uploader shows how, time and time again, a player can shoot a character that is clearly in his crosshairs without actually scoring a hit.

Hopefully, this will be addressed shortly, preventing people from trying to avoid damage by jumping.
