The new online first-person shooter is ready for deployment

After a lengthy beta period, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be officially released later today on the Steam digital distribution service for the PC and Mac platforms, as well as on the North American PlayStation Store. Meanwhile, European PS3 owners as well as Xbox 360 ones will be able to get it tomorrow, August 22.

Counter-Strike was the first true online phenomenon, capturing the attention of millions of players from all over the world.

After several new installments, Valve has worked alongside Hidden Path Entertainment to deliver the definitive experience, in the form of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

We have already heard plenty of details and have even seen a special cinematic video made by Valve in its Source Filmmaker tool.

Now, the game is getting ready to be released later today, on August 21, onto the Steam service, for PC and Mac, and on the North American PlayStation Store, for the PS3.

Xbox 360 owners and European PS3 users will be able to buy it tomorrow, August 22.

The game costs $14.99/€10.99/800 MS Points, depending on the platform and region.
