Valve is running a very special deal on its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive online shooter via its Steam digital distribution service, as the multiplayer-only title is free-to-play over the weekend, while the actual game can be purchased with a 33% discount.

Weekends bring all sorts of great deals for users of Valve’s Steam platform, as quite a lot of games receive big discounts, while others go free-to-play for short periods of time.

This weekend, Valve has turned its recent Counter-Strike: Global Offensive shooter into a free experience, as anyone can download the first-person shooter and try it out free of charge, via Steam.

In case you enjoy the game, you can buy its full version with a special 33 percent discount until Monday, at 10am PDT.

Considering the amount of praise Global Offensive received for blending together the best elements of the previous installments, like Counter-Strike 1.6 or Counter-Strike Source, shooter fans should certainly give it a try over the weekend.
