A brand new patch for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has just been released by Valve on the Steam digital distribution service, bringing improvements to maps like Cache and Insertion, not to mention a new tool to verify the state of the CPU during the game.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is now the second most popular game on Valve's Steam service, second only to the behemoth that is Dota 2.

As such, the studio is trying to release constant updates in order to address fan feedback and to ensure that players are as delighted as possible with the multiplayer first-person shooter.

A fresh patch has just been made available on Steam, via Reddit, bringing just a few big improvements to maps like Cache or Insertion. Cache has received modifications to bomb site B, not to mention better lighting to the A site and a few other sections. Insertion's invisible limits have been improved with visible objects, such as fences, and some sections, like the villa, have been optimized.

A new tool to monitor the frequency of the CPU during the game has also been added, as it seems that quite a few people are experiencing problems with overheating and errors when in the shooter.

The new patch is already live on Steam and clocks in at around 67MB.

Check out a few screenshots with the modified sections in Cache below.
